Folk Art in Inman Park was good, but not great. The atmosphere was probably the highlight of the experience — fun vibe, great energy, and service was excellent throughout the meal. Food-wise, it landed slightly above average for me. I ordered the Fowl Play (chicken and waffles). The waffle had good flavor, but I wish it had been crispier around the edges. The chicken was tender but pretty bland and could have used more seasoning. The compote was the biggest miss on the plate — both the texture and flavor felt off and didn’t add anything to the dish. We also tried the braised short ribs and grits. The short ribs were tender, but they came across more like pot roast than traditional braised short ribs. The grits were actually the best part of the dish. The biggest negative for me, though, was seeing the health score posted at 84. Had I noticed that before ordering, we probably would have chosen somewhere else. I know people weigh health scores differently, but for me that definitely impacted the overall experience. Overall: great service and atmosphere, but the food didn’t quite match the setting.
Always good and a great place for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. A creatively curated menu of options with specials all the time. Consistently excellent service. Have been coming here for 13 years with a year or so between visits and place has never skipped a beat
I had a business meeting with a mentor at Folk Art recently and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I like the spot. I had never been here before despite having lived in Atlanta since 1986. There's plenty of parking in the back which is unique for this part of town. The atmosphere and decoration is very eclectic and unique for a diner. For me the best part was the excellence service by the staff. Everyone was friendly and very professional and checked in a good amount to make sure everything was going well. I had their very unique sweet potato pancakes, which also has some buttermilk, with strawberries and whipped cream as well as some banana soaked in some syrup and with walnuts. The cappuccino and coffee were tasty and fresh. Because they have a lot of Windows and thin doors. It is not very comfortable when it's freezing outside, but if you sit in the interior part you're fine. The food is affordable and well made.
I thoroughly enjoyed breakfast here. The sweet potato pancakes were light, delicious, and perfectly cooked. The vegetable omelette was fluffy, flavorful, and very satisfying. The coffee was great and paired perfectly with the meal. Our server was attentive, pleasant, and made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be back for breakfast.
Sweet Potato Pancakes; absolutely AMAZING!!! Eggs Benedict with spinach and fried green tomatoes; absolutely SPECTACULAR!!! Awesome menu, unlimited choices. The only artwork better than that donning the wall space were the entrees presented by a friendly and engaging staff. It was obvious they take great pride in customer service and the dishes they serve. If they could be given more stars, I’d still be typing… Definitely will patronize again!!!
