Had a fabulous birthday experience here back in March! The service was stellar - friendly yet professional. We had an event to attend after dinner and, despite a short timeframe, service flowed smoothly and didn't feel rushed. Our favorites were the charred cabbage, the complimentary heart kebab, and the duck. I had been eyeing the heart on the coursed menu, but since we decided to go with the a-la-carte option to try more things, I had to let it go. You can imagine my delight when it was brought out as a gift from the kitchen! (Thank you Patrick! I'm sure you had a hand in making that happen.) The desserts were creative and interesting. I would definitely recommend giving both the melon sorbet and white pepper ice cream a try as their flavor combinations were very unique.
They validate parking for 3 hours if you self-park in the garage next to the restaurant. There’s also valet service available. We chose to self-park and made a reservation in advance for our anniversary dinner. It was my first time visiting, so I was amused by the life-size alpine goat décor in the center of the restaurant. The server was knowledgeable about the menu and attentive, though it became a bit harder to find him toward the end of the dinner. That said, the other servers were also very professional and friendly. The food is good, though some dishes had unexpected flavors. Not bad, just not what I personally expected or preferred, but my boyfriend happily finished those dishes. We had: - Amuse-bouche: a complimentary starter from the restaurant - Pretzel bread with homemade butter: complimentary and perfectly balanced in flavor - Dandelion salad: a bit too sweet for my taste the more I ate it. The sweetness comes naturally from marigold pollen and nuts, but it was a bit much for me - Lemon pepper frog legs: slightly too salty and sour for my preference - Pomme rösti (trout roe with cream on crispy layered potato): this dish was good, though I kept thinking it looked like fried tofu - Jäger schnitzel: this chicken entrée was very good - Halibut: I didn’t want the curry, so they kindly accommodated my request and served the curry on the side, even though it normally comes with the fish - Tiramisu for dessert, and they also brought us white pepper ice cream as a complimentary anniversary treat. That was a really nice gesture. The ice cream was refreshing with an interesting flavor Keep in mind that the complimentary bread will be charged if you request a second serving. If we had known, we probably wouldn’t have ordered more. The server suggested the bread would pair well with the frog legs and asked if we wanted extra, so we went for it. However, the bread actually paired better with the butter than with the frog leg dish. When checking out, they give you a chocolate truffle in a mini chest. I loved the mini chest! Overall, we had a nice experience. Definitely recommended.
Had an incredible experience at Avize in Atlanta. From start to finish, everything felt thoughtful and elevated, but what really stood out was the team. Our server, Patrick, was outstanding, very attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm without ever being overbearing. He made the entire evening feel seamless. Chef Carl went above and beyond in a way you rarely see. I mentioned I was vegan, and instead of limiting the experience, he completely leaned in by creating off-menu dishes that were creative, beautifully executed, and honestly some of the best vegan food I’ve had. He even carried that attention through to a custom dessert, which was such a thoughtful final touch. We also had a sommelier who absolutely nailed the wine selection, a white that paired perfectly with everything and elevated each course. This wasn’t just a meal, it was an experience. Huge thanks to Patrick, Chef Carl, and the entire team for making it so memorable. Highly recommend.
A truly unique addition to the Atlanta food scene! Avize offers a fantastic trek through Alpine cuisine that feels both sophisticated and cozy. The atmosphere is moody and refined perfect for a date night. We loved how the menu blends traditions from Switzerland, Italy, Germany and France. Even had little touch of Asian. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of unexpected flavors. Highly recommend for anyone looking for something beyond the typical Atlanta dining. The final chocolate course was delicious, but the presentation had a slight drawback. While the bird's nest concept with the green leaves was visually striking, the materials used for the box had a strong, unpleasant scent that interfered with the experience. Focusing on scent neutral decorations would make this detail as perfect as the chocolate.
Dinner with friends and it was excellent from amuse bouche to dessert. The service was spectacular. We had a little of everything from the menu and I'll confidently say EVERYTHING is good. You can't go wrong. We were also lucky enough to have some rare aged albino caviar which was simply divine. The trout cru appetizer is a must have if you're a fan of fish. The suggested wine pairings were perfection with our choices as well. The environment was great and though lively, still felt cosy and intimate enough for our dinner. The "Easy Rider" cocktail is also a must have!! There's a very nice selection of dessert drinks alongside actual dessert. You won't be disappointed! Honestly the only hiccup of the evening was the fact that I encountered some bones in the last bite of my bass.
