This is usually my go to spot for seafood, however on this visit the Fish Market missed the mark and I was celebrating a friends birthday. Several things went wrong on the evening. We had a reservation for 6:30pm, and requested a window table with a view because I wanted to impress my guest on her first visit to the FM. We were guided to a very small two person table by the railing, which was not acceptable. We were then directed back to the hostess station and was seated in the main dinning room. Not a window seat which we did notice it was a table available by the window. So I was disappointed, but I let it go and we were seated. Then the birthday girl, ordered a Mojito, only to be told that they were completely out of mint. Disappointed again, but the server did suggest another drink. If you are familiar with FM, you know they will serve a basket of bread once seated. Well the server brought ours, and I honestly had to take a second look. I asked what it was, and we were told they were out of bread. Go figure. What they served were two slices of what appeared to be sandwich bread. Honestly, they would have been better off not bringing a breadbasket at all. It was embarrassing and certainly not what I expected from the FM. Disappointed again. Then while we were sitting and talking, I noticed a row of dead flowers behind her seat. They were real flowers with dead leaves throughout them. I finally asked the manager what's going on because this was not the level of service or presentation I expected. He indicated that someone was scheduled to come in a few days to replace the flowers. My thought, if you cared about the look you would have had someone on staff to just clip all of the dead leaves. And finally, our table was right by the beautiful fish aquarium. Unfortunately, the edge of the glass was covered with blue painters tape all around it. Very ugly. The one positive thing of the evening is that the entrée was pretty good, but not the celebration.
This place has an amazing happy hour that really stands out! I absolutely love their seafood. it's super fresh and tastes fantastic. Because of happy hour, the servers are understandably quite busy, so just a little patience goes a long way. But trust me, the staff works incredibly hard to take care of everyone. I had a wonderful experience here and will definitely be coming back!
We hosted a rehearsal dinner of 120 people this June and it was beyond our expectations:). The staff is so professional and they truly care about the event. I planned this event from out of town and they made this process seamless for me. On the day of the dinner, I was truly amazed as I arrived early in the day to drop off some things and everyone greeted me and knew of our event from the valet all the way to the management . The room was perfect, the staff was attentive, and the food was INCREDIBLE! The filet was so perfect, the appetizers were divine, I truly cannot say enough good. Special thanks to Katherine, Manny, and Katie as they were the epitome of perfection and the kind of people that every place would dream of having on their team. I will definitely be back to eat here every time I am in the Atlanta area and you should too :).
I have always wanted to visit the big fish downtown and Atlanta Fish Market is everything. The Apple Kale salad was delicious and such a huge portion I could not finish. My husband had the fried platter with the jumbo lump crab cake and it was as delicious as described. The atmosphere was everything calm and quiet enough to talk. Our server (i wish i felt like sharing his name) was good but as soon as we paid we were forgot about a bit. We were waiting for a box to.go for a minute. It was kinda sad. My husband was not happy and I truly had to hear about it which I hated. We would come back. On the strength of the food.
We had an amazing Mother’s Day dinner at Atlanta Fish Market. Everything was absolutely delicious from start to finish. We ordered the crab bisque, shrimp tempura, twin lobster tails, and calamari… every dish was flavorful, fresh, and cooked perfectly. The lychee drops were EVERYTHING and definitely one of my favorite drinks of the night! I even tried my cousin’s trout and it was so good. The service was amazing and the atmosphere made the night feel extra special for celebrating with family. Such a great experience overall. Happy Mother’s Day to our family ….definitely a dinner to remember!
